Am I so jet-lagged that I missed the Wimbledon thread, or have we not started one yet? Marat was seeded 15, but after Monfils' withdrawal, he is now 14. I guess Nadal is in doubt and if Nadal withdraws, Marat might be lucky 13. :P We shall find out soon.

Full draw is out.

Marat's section is the same as Andy Murray's: http://www.wimbledon.org/en_GB/scores/d ... /r1s2.html

Can't say much about Marat's opponent - I always confuse him with Wayne Odesnik, don't know why :)

All I know is that Jesse Levine is a lefty which is always uncomfortable for Marat, and comes to the net once in awhile..

But, of course Marat's level is way-way above his opponent !
They had never played each other before, so it will take some time for Marat to get into rythm. If he will mean business like last year, Marat will be fine !

Thanks for great pictures, Alex!

I'm sure Roger wouldn't wish for a better hitting partner - I bet Marat is fun to practice with! :)

And, Marat, of course, benefits a lot from practicing with a "King of Grass" :)

From the Wimbledon website:

«Federer to to play first match on Centre Court
Friday, 19 June 2009
Written by AELTC

Following the withdrawal of Rafael Nadal, a decision has been made to play the bottom half of the gentlemen's and ladies' singles on Monday 22 June.
The opening match on Centre Court will be Roger Federer v Yen-Hsun Lu.»

This means Marat will play Tuesday as he is in the top half of the draw.
