there  Hope everything works out well!!

Good chance for Marat to show hes one of Tennis Greats :P

Soderling below Marat in rank
shows that No one is invincible!! He beat Nadal!!

And Marat beat Soderling in Rome

So there you are....

And now Soderling has just given Gonzo 6-3 first set!! in the semis
i am watching now!! Gonzo sweating profusely - twitching his
nose in disbelief!! Tennis is illusory ??- Immanent and temporary
NOT permanent and absolute: Fortunes can change!! ( What has this got to do with the thread for AEGON Tournament - please keep to topic) webby
There is power in everyone to change things!! :D Make or breakville city

Instincts are there that are powerful compasses !!

'

Hope Marat Safin
takes advantage of his opportunities in
Aegon and Wimbledon thereafter!!

GOOD LUCK

f-ma with you Marat!!

Nadal has withdrawn, Davydenko, Nalbandian and Gasquet have withdrawn.

From what I see on their players' page, Marat is seeded 7th.

Draw: http://www.atpworldtour.com/tennis/en/c ... 11/mds.pdf

Marat plays P.Andujar in the 2nd round with Marat having a BYE in the 1st round and could possibly play P.H.Mathieu in the 3rd round.

Good draw for Marat

Ok we seem to be doing it again - going way ahead of ourselves - please lets just look at the first step he will take - sorry but I do get superstitious so please can we try this time and just focus on who Marat will play in the 2nd Round.

Thanks

I'm still hoping for one last magical tournament, the way Wimbledon was last year. The signs weren't there then, so that leaves enough room for hope.

We'll see how things develop, best of luck here!

Lets hope for magical moments. Ok webby one step
at a time!!

i like your superstition. :D

I beg your pardon maratwebby. I make the reference to Soderling being rank
23 and it only is my wish to ILLUSTRATE that Marat being rank 22 could
to all intents and purposes be as capable to challenge a higher
ranked player like Gonzales or any other player beyond his rank.
Unfortunately it refers to the RG turnament and its only an illustration, an example!!
I know we should keep the topic to the AEGON but for the hell
of me it only serves as an illustration and not trying to
be purposely trying to get off the topic .I might add that i am well attuned to the principles of subject classification to maintain order and harmony!!I respect your objective in maintaining that!!(i have also PM'ed you to apologise when i have blundered- i take your objectives rather seriously) Albeit , the reference to changes of fortune/power to change things;
and immanency and permanancy could be superflous- though valid- and not well taken but i was just
driving a point!! It is a Hegelian concept, a crucial idea of the Philosopher Hegel!! As Marat Safin reads and is conversant in the German philosopher Schopenhauer, and i am certain of other philosophers of the 19th century, its a reason i have outlined this concept here in the knowledge he will fully comprehend what i am saying. It is an encouragement not to be hampered by negative results of the recent past and that changing ones situation is within each human beings reach!!! There is no harm in this!!? Be that as it may, pardon my recklessness but i would appreciate magnanimity in the exchange
of ideas and thoughts. With due respects to everyone!!

Marat Safin is no ordinary tennis player and we honour him for his scholarship! His legacy to sportsmanship!!
It would be a great pity if this post, was dismissed as irrelevant!!
I hope my comment here is well taken !!Thank you  :D

Not a bad draw for Marat !

Best of luck to him !
Of course, it's not easy to make a transition from clay to grass, but Marat has always been an all-surfaces player !

The Qualifer who Marat could face in the 1st round is Xavier Malisse

Confirmed that Marat plays Xavier Malisse in his 2nd round match. Malisse beat Andujar 5.0 when Andujar retired.
The OOP is out for tomorrow and Marat is not on it so presume he will play Wednesday. Unfortunately Wednesday could have rain - thank goodness today it was dry and rather cool.

Marat leads their H2H 3:2, winning the last one last year in Monte-Carlo (on clay) comfortably 6:3, 6:2

Good luck to Marat on Wednesday!!
I hope he starts very well - I heard it's a nice atmosphere there, and courts are good quality.

Is anyone from this Forum in London now? If there is, please share your reports ! Many thanks !

here's a video of Marat practicing today

http://www.truveo.com/safin-at-queens/i ... 1190286100

and this one is the last game of Marat's 1st round last year against Ward.

http://www.truveo.com/Marat-Safin-1st-r ... 2613866400

As Marat said in his post-match interview last year, it was harder for him, because it was his 1st match on grass, and his opponent played through qualies..Ward won the 1st set, but then Marat was able to turn it around.
The same this year - he plays Malisse who played couple of matches already, and this will be Marat's 1st, but I hope Marat will come through this time as well !
