Not a surprising draw...not a good one, but not surprising :)

I would rather see Marat play Federer in his last tournament, but they could only meet in Semifinal :)

Yes, we have been lucky to watch Marat's ups and downs, and his perfect game, and we will hope for his last matches to be enjoyable, more for Marat's sake - I feel that Marat will put an effort to play well & show his all-court game!! win or loose...

As Marat said himself in video piece on his last tournament: "I hope to have good last matches, no matter who I play against, I hope not to have a bad loss..."

Thanks to Marahsa at MTF for posting this link :
"Marat Safin before the last tournament in Paris"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-wPhsrKLrgs

I encourage all to watch it!

Good luck, Marat!! We are all with you!!

Thanks for all the updates ..all..

Hmm so Marat faces a qualifier. That should be ok. That is one of seven
qualifiers in a field of 24 qualifiers who compete on Saturday..By
Sunday it would be clear who those 7 will be..

Del Potro in the 2nd Round??

Not to bad either. Should be a great match..

Step by step, step by step...

It was indicated to me that Marat's match would be Monday at 7pm - evening which is why I have to be there tomorrow. And that works well with a qualifier because they will be there already.

Four more results to get in my brain..

Really have to get keen sense of who this mysterious player that will
face Marat for his last official tournament . His first match
for his last tourney. It must mean something ......

I often wonder who Marat faced first in his early satellite tourneys
He knows but we dont... I dont !! :)

Thiery Ascion has got thru..
who is this guy??

M. Rodrigues and F. Serra are the last two qualifiers who have
won their matches

Another round of 6 matches today by same set of players before
the qualifiers are distributed in the Main draw. Long drawn out process
will have to wait out to find out who this qualifier is that will face Marat.

But that is ok..

James Blake,Michael Llodra , Benjamin Becker and Fabrice Santoro
from the Main Draw have their matches today Sunday.

I checked the Tennis.com page on livescores and Marat is
not scheduled to play Monday!

Maybe some error but will have to monitor closely. Also none
of the qualifiers have been listed to play on Monday.

All the same Tennis.com is NOT that reliable. I IGNORE all its commentaries( very
bad commentators. Unprofessional and riddled with the lowest human values . used to
buy this magazine before but now i boycott it altogether. )
and only follow its lives scores page. And also not reliable at times

It might therefore mean that Marat has his first match on Tuesday!!

See what happens ...am gonna call my family but they will
be start going for their matches monday..that i know..Dont
want to mess up their schedules and make them run about the place
