Well, I was too quick to speak about Dima Tursunov & Igor Andreev..:(
None of them are playing in World Cup.

It's E. Korolev & Stanislav Vovk ?? I haven't heard of Vovk, but I guess there was nobody else, because Youzhny is playing someplace else this coming week.

Dima Tursunov will not play at RG because of left leg injury :(

I miss seeing him play :(
I hope he gets well soon !

on a good side, Maria Sharapova is back !!
She won her 1st match in Warsaw since 9 months ago.

Misha Youzhny is doing good now!
He is in his 2nd semi-Final after beating Melzer in Austria !

He started out this year in 60s, and his ranking went up to 46 now, so he is definitely moving in a right direction !

I think with Andreev, Tursunov & Davydenko having injuries now, Marat & Misha will be the "core" to play in Davis Cup & we count on them to have Russians go far in other tournaments ! :)

see according to the scoreboard that Igor Andreev is playing for Russia against Del Potro - he isn't winning but maybe decided good idea to get some match practice before RG.
Did you see the photos in the gallery of the WTC in Dusseldorf? Dima played in the street in an exho with Rainer Schuettler - so good to see he is ok on his feet maybe has withdrawn from RG basically because feels that his ankle could not stand 5 sets on clay. All being well he will be playing the grass season.

Marat's loss was the hardest for me..

but, he wasn't the only Russian who lost today - Dima Tursunov lost in 4 sets to Clement, and Youzhny lost to Hanescu in 3.

On a good side, Maria Sharapova won a tough match against Nadya Petrova (though I like Nadya too, I wanted Maria to win)

It's been going well for top Russians, except Dementieva who lost to Stosur in 3 sets.
As Elena said herself, she doesn't feel like she is in good form right now..

Sveta Kuznetsova beat Szink easily 6:1 6:3

Kolya Davidenko just beat Verdasco in straight sets, haven't been broken 6:2 6:2 6:4 !! Great job, Kolya !

Dima Tursunov/Igor Kunitsyn are through to Qtr-Finals in doubles !

Maria Sharapova won in 3 sets against Na Li ! She showed what a fighter she is !

I just finished watching the match, ismail !

What a match! What a fight from Sveta ! :D

I always respected Serena, but I can't anymore, not after what she said at press-conference: "I gave it to her (Sveta). I was like, do you want to go to semis? Because I don't.."
Now, come on! Nobody gave it to Sveta - she fought through that match, having served for it in a 2nd set, and losing, I was afraid it would be the same as in AO..But not this time !

Now Sveta has to play Stosur, and I hope she is good physically after 3 hours today.

Russian Final ? :)

Yes, Natasha,I watched the match as well and it was a good
match between 2 competent players. Sveta could have wrapped up the match at the second set, but Serena kept up the pressure.

I am glad Sveta strove on and finally won the match. Its strange - each time i see Sveta on TV reminds me
of a wholesome loaf of bread. I like her much

Grave injustice to Sveta to have her game disparaged by Serena - bad sportsmanship. Making Sveta feel small like this.

yes ! I mean, many players after match say that they did not play their best or didn't play their game, or it was a bad day for them, but, at the same time, they give full credit to their opponents, which Serena refused to do !

Sveta won !!
very tough match for her, because she was tired & was treated on her foot..
She was serving for match in a 2nd set, but lost her serve, then led on tie-break 5:2, and lost it.
But, still she came back and fought till the end - again !

I hope she gets plenty of rest so we can see a competitive match between her & Dinara.

So, we are in for a Russian Final !!

Maria Sharapova is in Qtr-Finals in Burmingham, she beat Schiavone today !
She is really getting into her form - grass was always one of her best surfaces

Misha Youzhny is doing well in London too - he beat Simon today to book a place in Qtr-Finals against Blake !
Misha has been slowly but surely moving up the rankings, and hopefully, he is also back to his form

Good luck to both of them tomorrow !
