Vera is in semis & will play Azarenka.
Igor Andreev lost to Ljubicic ..
That was an awesome match! Igor had so many break points - 10 !! in a 2nd set to win the match in straight sets, but lost it on a tie-break.
Then, he had 5 Match Points at 6:5, and against lost 3rd set on a tie-break..
He played so well, but did not convert a singe break point after 1st set..Ljubicic would serve 'big' or an ace when he needed to..
Anyway, just two Russian standing - Zvonareva & Pavluchenkova who has to beat Radwanska today to get to semis.
Good luck !

Pavluchenkova beat Radwanska and will face Ivanovic today.
Good luck to her - maybe it'll be all-Russian Final

Pavluchenkova just lost to Ivanovic 2:6, 3:6
But, it was a great run for this 17-year old girl, her first semi-final of big WTA tournament !
So, it will be up to Vera now to win this title ! Best of luck to her !

wish she wins although i had wished more for Dinara Safina to get through to the finals!! It will be only a matter
of time when Marats Esteemed Sister becomes Number One!!
Had great luck in meeting her by chance in Oz 09 . Regal, charistmatic, with an aristocratic bearing.

Well, we knew about Sharapova pulling out of Miami..
Now, Kolya Davydenko withdrew with leg infection..poor guy, was doing so well at the end of 2008..
He is a defending champion, beating Roddick & Nadal in straight sets last year !
Now, he will lose a 1000 points, and will probably fall out of top 10 for the first time in 5 years...

Well done to Vera!
It was a very tough match - it was so windy. However, she showed more concentration and won the important points, so a well-deserved win for her!
As for Miami. Well, Sharapova hasn't played for ages.. it's not so surprising for her missing that one too. But for Davydenko, I didn't know (thanks for the info, Natasha =)).. and it's sad, because he's losing a lot of points and won't even have the chance to defend his title. Anyway, I believe that when he is ok, he can enter the top 10 again.

We have our 4 girls in top half - Dinara, Sveta Kuznetsova, Lena Dementieva & Anna Chakvetadze.
There is a good chance to have a Russian come out a winner of this half & go to a Final !
On a botton half, Vera Zvonareva might have to figth both Williams sisters to get to a Final.
I wish all girls good luck, but I do want Dinara to make it to the Final !

Dinara lost to Stosur 1:6, 4:6..
When she was down 2 breaks in a 2nd set, I thought it was over, but she gor 2 breaks back to lose her serve again..
I was surprised - Dinara had 3:0 H2H...I think Dinara is struggling right now...
I wish her good luck in next tournaments !
Dima Tursunov lost to Roddick 6:7 (9:11), 2:6..
Very tough 1st set, and Dima played well, but did not have his 1st serve at all ! when you play Roddick, you gotta have good 1st serve %..
And 2nd set, unfortunately, I knew that Dima would most likely lose - I've watched his matches too many times to notice that against a tough opponent, Dima needs to win 1st set to have a chance to win a match..
So, with Dima, Kunitsyn & Gabashvilli having lost, we have 2 Russian guys standing - Marat & Igor Andreev !
On girls' side - Lena Dementieva & Sveta Kuznetsova won, and Azarenka beat Chakvetadze

okay, Russians are falling like apples from trees...
last guy standing was Igor Andreev, and he just lost to Wawrinka in 3 sets..
Lena Dementieva lost to Wozniaki, Nadya Petrova to E. Makarova.
So, we have 2 left - Sveta Kuznetsova & Makarova - good luck to both of them !

Sveta Kuznetsova beat Wozniaki in 3 sets.
By the way, Sveta won 1st set, and was 5:2 up in a 2nd, serving for match, and could not do it - twice, like Marat, lost both her serves & the set went to a tie-break, and Sveta lost..But, she came back strong to win 3rd 6:1 !
I did not watch the match, just the score board, so at 5:5 I was like "this can not be happening..did Sveta talk to Marat before this match or something? he-he.."
And, Vika Azarenka absolutely destroyed Stosur 6:1, 6:0 !
So, Sveta & Vika will play for a place in a Final !
