Nena , i wonder how you got the information about the surgery part please. Was there an article on it. Surgery IS NOT GOOD.risky There are excellent doctors who will prescribe extraordinay exercises that can solve back problems. I had a minor slipped disc once because of playing tennis. Much pain. Some told me to get surgery in Germany but another recommended me to a brilliant lady doctor who just used a pin to trace the location of the vertebre that was misalingned and she told me i dont even need an x- ray. She gave me a specific set of exercises and after 2 weeks i was fine. That was some years ago and now i am as fine as ever. Just wondering about the exact nature of Dinaras problems thanks In fact we were watching the match against Jankovic and Dinara was serving excellently and we taken aback when she winced and very very sorry that she was retiring from the match. She is really Regal and had full control of extraordinary poise even as she walked to her chair in discomfort.

Ismail it was reported on the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour site in an interview. Seems she has been suffering from this since Portoroz and should have stopped playing then but as she is as stubborn as her brother - she continued. Now she has to rest and try and sort thsi out. This seems to be the same sort of back injury that sidelined Tracy Austin and Andre Agassi earlier in his career. We can but hope and pray for Dinara that shw will get better and stronger next year.

Poor Dinara!
She was pushing herself so hard, worked so hard for what she achieved, and now this?!
Just like Marat, when he was on top, started to have all his injuries, and never completely recovered, as he said so many times himself...
I wish Dinara the best! !
