After losing Venus in sami at Wimbledon Dinara came back to win in Portoroz. Right now she's holding 10,251 points while Serena 8,509....but for US open series she has to defend 2 title from last year before US open....I wish she will not put the pressure but learn from all kind pressure & handle it...Keep going Dinara I sent you a thousand support to cheer you up......

Somepics from Banka Koper Slovenia Open in Portoroz.....I got from many site during tournament.

I am late..but, congrats to Dinara on her title - it was very important for her to win this tournament!

I watched the match a bit on livestream, and Dinara looked very strong - forehand, backhand, serve was not too great, but overall good performance!

She's got many titles to defend in US Open series, so good luck to her!

Dinara looking has beautiful as always, she needs to keep up the great playing. This time I am POSITIVE that she will win her first grand slam at the US Open. Please shut Serena up and show everyone that you are the true number one- NOT that she needs to prove herself to anyone.

Dinara lost to Jeng in LA yesterday in round on 16..:(

Didn't watch the match, but heard that she was up a break in a 3rd, but, as she said herself, "did not use her chances"..
She says it often, unfortunately..

I like Dinara very much - for her drive & hard work & perseverance!
But I have to agree with Tarpishev that she needs to work on variety in her game. I f she can't serve well, she needs a plan B - coming to the net more..I don't know..She doesn't have Marat's talent, so not everything comes naturally to her, it takes time..

And, I also think Krajan is putting a lot of pressure on her - every match she plays, she looks at him after almost each point - that's not the way to try to relax on court..

I hope she is not too upset with this loss & good luck to her in next tournament

Marat Safin lauds his sister's ascent in womens' tennis, despite controversy over her No. 1 ranking: "Nobody believed that she's going to be No. 1 in the world. Nobody believed that she going to be top 10 even two, three years ago. So look where she is right now. A lot of people they giving her trouble, 'Okay, she's No. 1 in the world but she never won a Grand Slam.'

"But I'm really proud that she's holding up herself even though that's somebody can be really rough on her. She's there. I hope she can be No. 1 for a long time so she can prove to everybody that they can go f*** themselves."

LOL, I love it! Thank you for sticking up for Dinara, Marat, such a great brother you are. :D

Dinara just won her 1st match yesterday againdt Vinci in Cincinnati, OH !

What a match that was! After being up 2:0 in a 1st set, she then lost 9 games in a raw!
She was 2 breaks down in a 2nd, then got them back, then lost her serve again, so Vinci was serving for match!

So, Dinara won the 2nd set, and was down again in a 3rd - whew!

Good luck to her in a next round!

It will be very tough match for Dinara today against Klijsters

I watched Klijsters beat Sveta Kuznetsova yesterday..:(

I have great respect for Kim - being absent for so long, and beat such good players as Bartoli & Sveta..

But, of course, best of luck to Dinara!!

Congrats to Dinara!

She played very-very well, showed solid tennis - great way to win the match, especially against such a tough opponent as Kim

Good luck to her against Pennetta!!
Last time they played was last year in a Final of LA, and it was a tought match, but Dinara won.
If she plays as aggressive as yesterday, and she served big too - she will beat Pennetta!

Congrats to Dinara! Another great match by Dinara!! She left no chances to Pennetta

Now she will play the winner of Dementieva-Jankovich match.

I'm watching the match now, and Pam Shreiber is saying that Marat is watching Dinara's match!
She says that there are 2 TV's in a lounge area - some people are watching golf, and some Tennis on ESPN2, and she saw Marat reading the newspaper & watching the match. Shreiber also said that she wanted to approach Marat to chat, but he glanced her way & said: "Pam, no.."
