Dinara won her 1st-round match 6:0, 6:0 !!
Very powerful! She stayed focus, went for her shots even on break points, and came to the net a lot
Congrats to her !

Dinara on Lenglen court today - 2nd round against
Vitalia Diatchenko
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
listen to this: On the Roland Garros Official Website they write in the front page
captions:
' have your say: With the current world number 1 Dinara Safina
yet to win a Grand Slam who in your opinion is the best player
on the womens circuit . Write us and tell us what you think?!!!!!!!'
i say: why dont they leave Dinara Safina alone and accept, accept that she is
number ONE. We see her play her matches and what a valiant effort.
A system is devised to rank players . In system
development all aspects are considered and if the system output produces a result
it is the systems design that delivers the output!! its as simple as that!!
the system inputs are all the winnings and points accrued by succesive wins!!
System designers i am sure ensure the integrity of the system!!
And why do they want to persists to be idiots!!?? What is then their hidden agenda!!?
They want to console Serena Williams??!!! That is my hypothesis or what is it??
I am angry that they still want to cast doubts on Dinara Safina. How embarrasing
it can be for her!! It is the height of discourtesy!! If it was say a French player say
Alice Cornet would they pose such a question on the Website!! i dont think so!! French
hypocricy at work!!!
I used to admire French writing its literature. But my heart changed when i went
to Morocco and learnt to my horror how the French used to drag
out from their homes able bodied men and kidnap them to work
as labourers and soldiers in France and their colonies. They did not batter
an eyelid in the face of screaming horrified mothers and fathers of the
poor Morroccns!! But the intellengentsia of France keep their mouths
shut of what they did to this very day!! SOCIAL - POLITICAL HISTORY here!!
but i do admire just two French writers: Simone de Beauvoir and Sartre who
tried to bring out the truth about these injustices and they
were villified by the bourgeosie hypocrical French right and the middle
class!!
Liberter, Fraternity, Equality. what a lot of bullshit!!!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A good book on this subject :Franz Fanon - 'The Wretched of The Earth"
Franz Fanon was a writer from one of the colonies . He died of Brain cancer
He was a doctor. Sartre wrote a preface to his masterpiece.

Ismail
To each their own opinion but in actual fact all that was only a debate which Drew Lilley (who does the "As it Happens" section) started up during the long rain delay yesterday to keep everyone amused.
A lot of people have this thing about Serena Williams - I can't stand her - but I don't deny she is a good tennis player just too full of her own importance. But everyone is entitled to their opinions.
But the proof is - Dinara has won her 2 matches so easily and Serena struggled to get through in 3 yesterday and in fact if her opponent had been able to take her chances - might even have been knocked out. And Serena admitted her play was horrendous.
So don't take it that it was the feelings of the French - it was just general posting of all the posters visiting the website so it is wrong to blame the French.

noted webby!
but its gets bit too much that
they still tend to make an issue
of Dinara ranking as number one!
just wish they would let her enjoy
her well earned position in peace!!

Great Win for Dinara!!

Nerve racking at the end of the first set and then
i got upstairs and got my sweet wood and burned
and burned - the tv set and the whole lounge flooded
with smoke.. she just had to win this!!
And formidable as she settled down and gave her best
and now i smell good!!!!

Congrats to Dinara !
After leading by a double-break in a 2nd, she lost both - I was worried, but Dinara showed her character once again!
I knew if she won the 2nd set, she would win the match !
Next is Cibulkova who beat Maria (poor Maria, but a great effort from her to get to Qtr-Finals after being absent for 9 months! )
Last time Cibulkova beat Dinara @ Hopman Cup..
I think Dinara was very emotional there, playing for Russia along side with Marat.
She should beat Cibulkova comfortably
