Thanks for the Reports Alexandra....
I think Marat has arrived already at this writting.
I think he can adjust to the clay...
His aura is fine!!! I really
dont want the malaise of the
Monfils, lapentti, Robredo episodes
to ever happen again!!!
We hope for the best...

Oh by the way:
I got this today from one of the tennis websites i usually
go to for tennis updates: 'tennisconnected" it says:
' Almagro makes his bread and butter on clay, but
his confidence and court sense seems to be
in disarray" referring to the Swedish Open!! 2009
This guy has gone quite fat as well!!
Pardon my excuberance!!!

Marat arrived only today so he has time to adjust to the clay tomorrow. I saw him and he looked cheerful, I´d be bummed if I had flyed all day, but I suppose he is used to it
I think all guys that perticipated in DC all arrived late. Haven´t seen Robredo or Verdasco either.
The weather started rainy in the morning but it got great in the afternoon
Cheers all!!
Alex

Thanks for the report, Alex! Great to hear Marat is looking cheerful after the Davis Cup and the whole-day-flying =)
Hope he gets used to the clay fast and be ready to show his best game

Hej from Sweden!
Marat practiced this morning with Tima Gabashvilli for about 1h30. It was a normal practice. He was hitting the ball clean and agressive with just a few mistakes here and there, followed by a couple of ai, ai, ai, and once the ocasional racket bounce - you get the picture
I took a couple of pictures that I will post later.
I so love watching him practice/play... That swoosh sound his racket does is unique...

Thanks for sharing, Alex !
I'm sure it's different to watch Marat's practice than the actual match..
Unfortunately, Marat is not playing in Washington, DC this year, so very little chance for me to see him LIVE
Have a great time, Alex !

Alex,
thanks for the updates. Keep enjoying watching Marat and cheering for him. I love to watch Marat play as well. My favorite about watching Marat play is how beatifully he strikes the ball; it's all one beautiful fluid motion of legs, arms, shoulder rotation, etc. He makes it look really effortlessly.

Natasha,
come on over to LA. On the other hand, Marat seems pretty unpredictable, so who knows, he might decide to go to Washington, DC; so don't give up hope. You would think they would try to get him to go there. I totally agree with Tarpischev's words regarding fans flocking to watch Marat. I have totally done that myself, going to watch Marat play at an outer court instead of sitting in my expensive box seat on Central Court watching a higher ranked player.
